Wadi Mathendous is a prehistoric archaeological site on the Messak Plateau in southwest Libya. It contains some of the world’s oldest rock art dating back to the Neolithic period around 8,000 years ago. One of the more well-known scenes from the Wadi Mathendous' petroglyphs is called the Fighting Cats.
